Tsinghua University was established in 1911, originally under the name “Tsing Hua Imperial College”. The campus of Tsinghua University is situated in northwest Beijing on the site of the former imperial gardens of the Qing Dynasty, and surrounded by a number of historical sites.

Sinceits founding, Tsinghua greatly valued the interaction between Chinese and Western cultures, sciences and humanities, the ancient and the modern. Tsinghua scholars Wang Guowei, Liang Qichao, Chen Yinque and Zhao Yuanren, renowned as the “Four Tutors” in the Institute of Chinese Classics, advocated this belief and had a profound impact on Tsinghua\'s later development.

Today, Tsinghua has developed into a comprehensive research university. At present, it has 21 schools and 59 departments with faculties in science, engineering, humanities, law, medicine, history, philosophy, economics, management, education and art. With the motto of “Self-discipline and Social Commitment” and the spirit of “Actions Speak Louder Than Words”, it is dedicated to the well-being of Chinese society and to world development.

Humanities and social sciences at Tsinghua date back to the 1920s when the Institute of Chinese Classics was established, together with the later-on emergence of other subjects of humanities and social sciences. Today, disciplines of humanities and social sciences at Tsinghua have become prestigious across the nation and some of them have reached world-class level. To accelerate the development of humanities and social sciences is among the top priorities in the University\'s agenda. Recruitment Positions

清華大學(xué)全面實(shí)施教研系列教師崗位準(zhǔn)聘長(zhǎng)聘（Tenure-track）制度。教研系列職位包括助理教授、準(zhǔn)聘副教授、長(zhǎng)聘副教授和教授。清華文科還專門設(shè)立了人文講席教授、文科資深教授等席位，加大對(duì)頂尖人才的支持和激勵(lì)。

本次招聘面向全球人文社會(huì)科學(xué)領(lǐng)域優(yōu)秀學(xué)者，招聘崗位為教研系列教師，主要包括頂尖學(xué)者和杰出學(xué)者兩個(gè)層次，部分學(xué)科方向也接受準(zhǔn)聘副教授和助理教授的崗位申請(qǐng)，招聘崗位具體參見(jiàn)附表。同時(shí)，特別設(shè)立高級(jí)訪問(wèn)教授崗位，邀請(qǐng)具備卓越學(xué)術(shù)水平的學(xué)者來(lái)清華訪學(xué)交流，開(kāi)展教學(xué)科研活動(dòng)。

The recruitment targets mainlydistinguished scholarsandoutstanding scholars. We plan to recruit prominent academics with remarkable scholarly records to join Tsinghua as tenured professors, as well as tenure-track assistant and associate professors in some disciplines (as shown in the list of positions attached below). We will conduct open searches across all fields of humanities and social sciences.

Apart from positions in the normal tenure-track system, we have set up positions of Chair Professor and Distinguished Professor of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences to support and honor distinguished scholars.

Meantime, we also welcome scholars to come asSenior Visiting Professors, specially set up to invite those with outstanding academic achievement to visit Tsinghua for teaching and research. The list of positions is attached below.

頂尖學(xué)者Distinguished Scholars

聘任崗位：長(zhǎng)聘教授，特別杰出的學(xué)者可授予人文講席教授。

-已在所從事領(lǐng)域取得國(guó)際公認(rèn)的重大研究成果，做出了突破性的原創(chuàng)學(xué)術(shù)貢獻(xiàn)，產(chǎn)生了突出的學(xué)術(shù)影響，展現(xiàn)出杰出的學(xué)術(shù)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)力；

-國(guó)內(nèi)外大學(xué)終身教授，或研究機(jī)構(gòu)相當(dāng)職位或水平的高層次人才；

-年齡一般不超過(guò)55周歲。

Requirements:

- Record of internationally-recognized achievement in his/her field, original academic contributions, and demonstrable outstanding academic leadership;

-國(guó)內(nèi)外大學(xué)的終身教授、副教授或達(dá)到相當(dāng)聘任標(biāo)準(zhǔn)，或研究機(jī)構(gòu)相當(dāng)職位或水平的人才；

-原則上45歲以下，特別優(yōu)秀者可以放寬到50歲。
