7月20日（周三）上午10點，北京大學(xué)心理與認知科學(xué)學(xué)院研究員、博士生導(dǎo)師姜佟琳將為大家分享題為Awe Fosters Global Self-Continuity(論敬畏感對整體自我連續(xù)性的促進作用)的講座。姜老師的相關(guān)研究成果發(fā)表在Journal of Personality and Social Psychology; Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin

摘要：Awe is a self-relevant emotion, but whether and how awe impacts global self-continuity (GSC), a sense of connectedness among past, present, and future selves, has never been investigated.

In six studies (N = 1,384), we examined the relationship between awe and GSC, as well as the mechanisms underlying this relationship, with both correlational and experimental design.

We found awe positively associated with (Studies 1 and 3) and predicted (Studies 2, 4–6) GSC. Moreover, we found that global processing (processing information in a general and big-picture way) and narrative (depicting one’s life as a story) serially mediated the relation (Studies 3–6).

The effect of awe on GSC and the mediating effect of global processing and narrative could not simply attributed to awe is predominantly positive (Studies 3, 4 & 6), and the model also holds for awe brought by threatening experience (Study 5).

These findings enrich the literature about the way awe affects self-concept.

個人簡介：姜佟琳，北京大學(xué)心理與認知科學(xué)學(xué)院研究員、博士生導(dǎo)師。研究方向為社會心理學(xué)，研究興趣包括自我概念、敬畏、懷舊、網(wǎng)絡(luò)心理學(xué)、人際互動等。

姜佟琳教授也是Frontiers in Psychology等期刊審稿人。研究成果發(fā)表在社會心理學(xué)核心期刊Journal of Personality and Social Psychology，Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin，交叉方向期刊Computers in Human Behavior等核心期刊上。主持國家自然科學(xué)青年科學(xué)基金項目“發(fā)現(xiàn)真實的自我——敬畏感積極心理作用的背后機制”并作為文章的第一兼通訊作者，在心理學(xué)頂級期刊發(fā)表相關(guān)研究文章“Awe Motivates Authentic-Self Pursuit via Self-Transcendence: Implications for Prosociality”。
