簡介

Access to emergency medical care continues to be a top concern to the healthcare industry of the U.S. and around the world, especially in rural areas where care access in general is poor. To such dire situation, significant contributors include ineffective management of pre-hospital emergency response operations and ineffective design of emergency care network. In this talk, we present two research projects in these two aspects. First, we address the issue of poor access top re-hospital life-saving interventions (e.g., defibrillator for out-of-hospital cardiac arrests and naloxone for opioid overdose) by harnessing drone technologies. We study a real-time joint decision problem via approximate dynamic programming. Second, we address the issue of geographic maldistribution of trauma centers by leveraging government subsidies. We study a subsidized network redesign problem via bilevel integer programming. Finally, we project how modern technologies can help transform emergency medical care logistics.

簡介

孔楠教授，普渡大學(xué)工學(xué)院教授。2006年從匹茲堡大學(xué)獲得工業(yè)工程博士學(xué)位。長期從事于隨機(jī)規(guī)劃、醫(yī)療運(yùn)作管理、醫(yī)療數(shù)據(jù)科學(xué)領(lǐng)域的研究，在非平穩(wěn)隨機(jī)規(guī)劃（stochastic programming under non-stationarity）、隨機(jī)前瞻（stochastic look-ahead）以及近似動(dòng)態(tài)規(guī)劃理論方法方面做了大量極具創(chuàng)新性的工作。已發(fā)表期刊論文69篇，其中多篇發(fā)表在管理領(lǐng)域的頂級(jí)期刊Management Science以及運(yùn)籌領(lǐng)域頂級(jí)期刊Mathematical Programming中。累計(jì)引用超過1000多次，近五年累計(jì)引用700多次。近五年作為項(xiàng)目負(fù)責(zé)人（PI）主持項(xiàng)目5+1項(xiàng)（在研2+1項(xiàng)，包括1項(xiàng)補(bǔ)充支持項(xiàng)目，已完成項(xiàng)目3項(xiàng)），其中美國國家科學(xué)基金（NSF）項(xiàng)目4項(xiàng)；作為項(xiàng)目合作主持人（co-PI）主持項(xiàng)目4項(xiàng)。項(xiàng)目資助總金額1335.9萬美元，直接負(fù)責(zé)金額142.7萬美元。具有豐富的學(xué)術(shù)組織任職經(jīng)歷，包括：在多個(gè)管理與運(yùn)籌領(lǐng)域的知名國際期刊領(lǐng)域主編和學(xué)術(shù)副主編，例如 Healthcare Management Science, Flexible Service and Manufacturing；美國電子電氣工程師學(xué)會(huì)（IEEE）的高級(jí)會(huì)員（IEEE Senior Member，會(huì)員中的最高級(jí)別）；在管理與運(yùn)籌領(lǐng)域最大規(guī)模組織INFORMS舉辦的系列會(huì)議中擔(dān)任程序主席，并在自動(dòng)化頂級(jí)旗艦會(huì)議IEEE ASE擔(dān)任會(huì)議領(lǐng)域副主編；擔(dān)任NSF和NIH基金的評(píng)審專家（ProposalReview Panelist）。
