簡介

Inter-organizational networks for joint project execution increase in popularity, as they allow for efficient use of scarce and specialized resources. These networks are typically hybrid designs, including hierarchies and network structures, which need to be governed simultaneously.That poses a challenge to traditional governance theories, which typically assume either a hierarchical or a network structure, but not a mix of it. Based on studies of complex large and mega projects in the construction industry, the presentation outlines the meta-governance dimensions that steer the development of governance structures for networks of networks of organizations which, inturn, impact the multi-level governance in each of the individual networks. The novelty of the presentation is in its theorization and integration of three levels of governance in inter-organizational networks for joint project execution.

人物

簡介

Prof. Dr. Ralf Müller, is Professor of Project Management at BI Norwegian Business School and Editor-in-Chief of the Project Management Journal. He lectures and researches in leadership, governance, and organizational project management. His research appeared in more than 270 academic publications and was acknowledged by IPMA, PMI, Emerald and others with 17 awards, including several lifetime achievement and fellow awards. A recent study by Stanford University placed him among the top 2 percent of the most influential scientists worldwide. Prior to his academic career, he spent 30 years in the industry, including a time asWorldwide Director of Project Management at NCR Corporation.
